About Me
Hi, I'm Barry, a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) based in Lacey Green.
Having previously spent many years working in a corporate environment, I decided to change careers during the COVID pandemic in 2020. I have always loved driving, whether the everyday commute, go-karting or rally stages.
I’ve also always enjoyed teaching and helping others gain knowledge and succeed, so the choice of my next role was easy!
After training with The AA and working as an AA driving instructor for some years I made the move to become an independent ADI which allows me greater flexibility on how I teach and the tools I use to aid that process for both myself and learner drivers.
My primary goal is to provide a professional, patient, and supportive learning environment, helping to build your confidence and ensuring you develop the necessary skills to become a safe and competent driver for life.
I’m passionate about helping people become safe, confident drivers. My teaching philosophy is built on teamwork, coaching, and a relaxed, fun atmosphere. We’ll work together at a pace that suits your ability and confidence, making joint decisions about your progress and tailoring each lesson to your needs.
This isn’t just about passing a test; it’s about building a solid foundation for a lifetime of safe driving.
From your very first lesson, we’ll be embedding the principles of defensive driving. This proactive mindset is all about anticipating potential hazards and preparing for the unexpected actions of other road users.
It’s a crucial skill that goes far beyond the basics taught for the driving test. By learning to be alert, aware, and prepared, you’re not just driving; you’re actively safeguarding yourself and others on the road.
