Hi, I’m a local professional ADI. I’m passionate about helping people become safe, confident drivers. My teaching philosophy is built on teamwork, coaching, and a relaxed, fun atmosphere. We’ll work together at a pace that suits your ability and confidence, making joint decisions about your progress and tailoring each driving lesson to your needs.

My teaching philosophy
From your very first driving lesson, we’ll be going beyond the basics. Whilst passing your test is absolutely the immediate goal, great driving is about so much more than ticking boxes — and that’s the philosophy at the heart of everything we do together.
Many new drivers face what I call a “cliff edge” moment when they go solo for the first time. Standard driving tuition doesn’t always prepare you fully for the unpredictability of real roads. The statistics back this up — in the year ending June 2025, there were over 127,000 road casualties in Great Britain, the majority caused by human error, most commonly a simple failure to look properly. Young drivers aged 17–29 account for 22% of all fatalities, despite being a relatively small part of the driving population. That’s a sobering reality, and it’s exactly why I teach the way I do.
From day one, I’ll be weaving in techniques drawn from Roadcraft — the British Police System of Car Control — to help you think and drive like a true “road tactician.”
In practice, this means developing the habit of reading visual clues about what’s likely to happen ahead, not just four or five seconds in front of you, but ten, twelve, or fifteen seconds ahead. It means building genuine situational awareness — understanding the road environment, the behaviour of other drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, and how everything around you is constantly changing.
Crucially, it also means understanding consequence — recognising that your decisions behind the wheel have a direct knock-on effect on everyone around you. A small misjudgement doesn’t just affect you; it can trigger a chain reaction. Understanding this isn’t meant to make driving feel daunting — quite the opposite. When you grasp cause and effect on the road, you become calmer, smoother, and far more confident.
We’ll also work on self-awareness — how your driving style, speed, and positioning affect other road users — and the simple but powerful value of courtesy, which keeps traffic flowing and reduces tension for everyone.
The result is a professional-grade skill set built from the very start, one that will genuinely keep you safer for life — not just on test day.
