Unless otherwise noted, all driving lessons are 90 minutes in duration, designed to maximise your learning progress and save you money in the long run.

Your initial driving lesson is where I start tailoring your entire learning experience.
As your independent instructor, the purpose of this session is twofold.
Firstly, it’s about introducing you to the fundamentals such as the responsibilities of both yourself and me as your instructor, the cockpit drill, basic controls in my car and making sure you feel comfortable and safe behind the wheel right from the off.

Secondly, and of equal importance, it’s my opportunity to assess your current skill level, even if you think you have none! Everyone learns differently, and by observing your natural reactions and understanding your learning style, I can devise a fully personalised training plan.
This approach means every subsequent lesson we have together will be focused, efficient, and structured specifically to help you pass your test and become a safe, confident driver on our UK roads.

Sunsequent driving tuition is £60 per lesson. Each 90-minute session is focussed and designed to cover key driving skills, challenging road scenarios, and local test routes to ensure you are fully prepared for your practical driving test.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), which oversees the driving test, suggests that, on average, a learner driver in the UK needs approximately:

• 45 hours of professional driving lessons with a qualified instructor.
• A further 22 hours of private practice (with a suitable friend or family member).

This makes the total recommended learning time around 67 hours.

Key points to remember:

• It’s an Average: This is a guideline, not a minimum requirement. Some people pass with fewer hours (especially if they are fast learners or have lots of private practice), while others may need 60 or more hours to feel confident and safe.
• Consistency is Key: Having frequent lessons (e.g., two hours per week) and private practice in between helps you retain skills much better, often leading to being test-ready faster than having only sporadic lessons.
• The Goal is Readiness: You are test-ready when you can consistently drive safely, independently, and without prompts from your instructor, making no serious or dangerous mistakes—regardless of the total hours.

Book ten hours of instruction upfront and save! Block bookings are perfect for consistent learning and progression. This option locks in a lower hourly rate, helping you reach test standard sooner while making your learning budget go further.

Use your balance of hours as and when you need.

Motorway anxiety is far more common than most people realise. Despite them statistically being the safest of all UK roads, the high speed, heavy congestion, and often complex junction layouts leave many drivers actively dreading the thought of using them.

This is exactly why I have designed my bespoke Motorway Confidence Lesson(s). This training is specifically for drivers who want to regain their independence, build lasting confidence, and take control of motorway driving once and for all.

My Motorway Confidence Lesson(s) share the effective, client-focused principles of my other successful advanced driving programmes. The most important first step I take is to listen to you.

We will start with a calm discussion where I listen intently to your specific anxieties, talk about the aspects you feel okay with, and identify the things that genuinely concern you about motorway driving. By listening first, I can much better tailor the training to your own unique needs and ensure we focus on the areas that will make the biggest difference to your confidence and safety.

Areas covered during my lessons are:

• Mastering the technique for safely joining and leaving the motorway.
• Maintaining a safe distance from all surrounding traffic.
• Maintaining control and visibility when driving in heavy rain and high winds.

Learn advanced techniques to anticipate hazards, manage risks, and maintain control in adverse conditions. This course focuses on proactive driving strategies to significantly improve your road safety.

Most drivers fall into a relaxed, almost unconscious ‘autopilot’ mode. Together, we’ll switch this off, training you to adopt a more deliberate and conscious style of driving. This shift is fundamental to safer, smoother, and more enjoyable driving.

Many avoidable incidents are plain to see—once you know what to look for. I’ll show you how to spot these early warning signs to keep you safe and avoid drama.

Driving is as much about mindset as it is about mechanical skill. My coaching focuses on developing a calm and detached temperament. Getting angry or calling out another driver for being ‘in the wrong’ offers no advantage and increases your risk. I’ll equip you with the right mental framework to anticipate the common errors of others and react safely and proactively, allowing you to stay focused, safe, and entirely in control of your own vehicle.

Designed for qualified drivers dealing with specific anxieties, rusty skills, or challenging manoeuvres (such as parallel parking). This flexible course allows you to focus on specific road environments that challenge you, including complex urban city driving (dealing with bus lanes and heavy traffic) or advanced skills required for safer navigation on tricky, high-speed country roads.
We focus on your ‘pain points’ to restore your confidence and competence behind the wheel.

If you hold an international driving permit or overseas licence and need to familiarise yourself with UK road rules, traffic signs, and driving styles before taking your practical test, this lesson is for you. Even if you hold a license from one of the  countries with an ‘Exchange Agreement’ with the UK, this lesson type is still recommended prior to obtaining a UK license.

This is a comprehensive, two-hour professional assessment designed to give a clear and objective evaluation of a driver’s current skills and confidence level.
Over 120 minutes, your instructor will observe your driving across various road environments (urban and country roads), assess your handling of common manoeuvres, and identify any habits that may need correcting.

You will receive detailed verbal feedback during and upon completion of the session, pinpointing areas of strength and outlining specific training recommendations. This assessment is ideal for drivers returning to the road after a long break, those requiring verification for insurance or employment, or anyone simply looking for a professional check-up.

Secure the use of my comfortable and familiar tuition vehicle for the duration of your official DVSA Practical Driving Test (High Wycombe, Aylesbury andLeighton Buzzard).

Please note that if time in addition to the 2 hours above is required for travel to and from the practical test centre, this will be charged at the standard hourly rate  (minimum 1 hour).
